STERNAMAN

Gregg D. Sternaman, 57, of Libertyville, IL, passed away on Monday, Dec. 7, 2009 of cancer, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born Jan. 6, 1952 in Springfield, IL and was a 1970 graduate of Ironton High School in Ironton, Ohio. He was also a former resident of Decatur and Highland Park, living in Libertyville for the past 10 years.

Gregg and his wife Donna were the former owners of Robert Vance. LTD. a clothing store in Vernon Hills and also the Ralph Lauren Polo Store on Michigan Avenue in Chicago. His true passion was coaching, beginning with the Highland Park Little Giants and was defensive coordinator of the high school team. He coached football, baseball and wrestling in Highland Park. He was also a little league, travel baseball coach and sophomore baseball coach at Libertyville High School.

Surviving are his wife, Donna (nee Metternich) Sternaman, children Eleanor "Ellie" and Nick, all of Libertyville, his mother Dorothy Sternaman of Libertyville and formerly of Decatur; sister The Reverend Carla (Bruce) Meisterman of Germantown, TN.; brother Todd (Cindy) Sternaman of Delafield, WI; Sisters-in-law, Colleen (Michael) Puscas and Diane Flynn; nieces and nephews, Whitney Hubbard, Hallie (John) Galvalisi, Andrew and David Sternaman, Alexa (Paul) Sifuentes, Molly (Jared) Kilmer, ColleenFlynn, Blair, Julia and Emily Puscas.

A funeral mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. Sat., Dec. 12, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 121 E. Maple, Libertyville. Interment will be private. Visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00.p.m. on Friday at the BURNETT-DANE FUNERAL HOME, 12- W. Park Ave. (Rt. 176) Libertyville.
